- and V.42bis disabled, it can handle 57.6 kbps with V.42 enabled and
- V.42bis disabled. In both cases, you're getting bursts of characters
- at 57.6 kbps. It's just that the bursts with V.42bis disabled are
- probably up to about 128 characters, while those with V.42bis
- enabled may be significantly longer.
